Jim also touches briefly on his post baseball life in Southern California which includes raising two daughters, working as a very successful motivational speaker, and collaborating with the US Department of Labor to raise awareness about the talents people with disabilities have to offer.

    Rick Rhoden…Two Sport Star?

    rick rhoden

During a sixteen year career in the show Rick Rhoden was known as one of baseball’s best hitting pitchers. Today the three time Silver Slugger winner is still hitting the ball with authority…only on the golf course!

The former Dodger and Pirate is now a professional golfer on the United States Senior Tour, and is one of the best players at Celebrity Players events.

Earlier this month Rick returned to Vero Beach – where he spent Spring Training with The Dodgers – to play at the 64th annual Indian River Grapefruit Pro-Am at the Vero Beach Country Club. He spoke to Tcpalm.com about his experience there.

Rick must liked it in Florida. When not golfing he resides in Ponte Verdra Beach.

    Jose Canseco

TMZ.com has a photo (and video) of a buiked up Jose Canseco out on the town in Los Angeles this week. From the looks of things he is keeping up his work-out regimen. Perhaps to further his newfound interest in boxing? Let’s hope he is doing it naturally!

    Whatever Happened to…Robin Ventura

    Robin Ventura

The New York Daily News caught up with six time Gold Glove winning infielder Robin Ventura who retired in 2004 after a sixteen year career spent most memorably with the White Sox and Mets.

Robin, who hit 32 homers and drove in 120 runs for the 1999 National League Champion Mets, now lives in Royal Grande, California where he spends his time raising his four children and managing his real estate investments.

In the piece Robin discusses an ankle injury suffered during his playing days that degenerated greatly once he retired, and how he only escaped being permanently disabled by undergoing experimental surgery.
